Shortly after you graduate, it now becomes the time to go out to the so-called "real world" and start with your very first job. Life in college and life in the workplace are two very different things, so always prepare yourself with the idea that you are bound to get culture-shocked. If you got some kind of internship during your college years, then good for you. At least you already have an idea of how it feels like to be in the industry, except that more is expected from you now.
During your first few days in work, there are only two main tips that I can give you an, surprisingly, they are not very hard to do if you really want to excel in the workplace. At this point, consider yourself fresh and, well, ignorant of things in the office, so better take these tips into account. The first tips is to just be quiet and observant. Notice how everything in the office works before suggesting anything that can alter the flow of things. While it is always great to be innovative, you can't be credible enough to introduce change if you haven't mastered the flow of things in the first place. Second is to mind your manners and learn proper etiquette. I think this not only goes for your first work, but for everything that you do. You have done well, manners-wise, in your interview. That's why you were hired in the first place. Now keep the good manners even in the workplace and you will be appreciated sooner or later. Finally (and this is related to the first one), you should know your co-workers well. This can be only achieved by proper observation and listening to your senior coworkers. Just listen and do not add anything to the "tips" because you're still new and you basically don't have the right to give tips like you know everyone else already. With these 3 simple tips in mind, excelling in the first few days of your first job shouldn't be too far off. You can talk about...
