So I just spent my first week at my new workplace. It's been a very nice experience so far, engaging with new faces and trying to learn more about the office and the kind of work that I will be doing in the next couple of months.

If there's anything worth telling about this new office, it's the pantry and the vendo machines that are available at our disposal. One of the key benefits in this new office is the free snacks that they offer everyday. There are sandwiches, cereals, fruits, and lots of snacks (such as cookies). Coffee and juice are also heavily available via the vendo machine.

We, the new workers, love these vendo machines very much. In the past, we have to spend some money to purchase juice for meals. This time, we only have to worry about the food that we will eat because beverage is already available at hand. There's soft drinks, iced tea, canned juice, and even energy drinks for those who are working late in the evening and those who want to boost their energy.

My team mates and I have decided to do our afternoon meetings at the pantry. In the kind of industry that I am in, constant communication with my team mates is essential, to the point that we have to meet everyday even for just 30 minutes just to catch up with each other's work.

So what we do is to go to the pantry, get some coffee from the vendo machine, and prepare some sandwiches as well. Holding our notebooks in hand, we then proceed to discuss what has been accomplished the previous day and think of what to do during the rest of the afternoon.

Ah well, if there's one reason why I will stay with this company for a long time, it's probably this one. Yes, more than the pay, I think this is one of the reasons why the people love it here. We all love freebies, including free food.
