It seems every day a new piece of technology is introduced. Some make our lives more fun, such as graphically advanced games and 3-D television. Others make our life easier, like multi-function cell phones and high-speed computers. Technology is all around us, improving and evolving all the time. Considering most of these advances have occurred in the last 30 years, the pace is just short of amazing.

Technology innovation has found its way into our offices as well. If you don't think that is true, do a Google search for "new office technology" and you get over 200 million hits. Born out of a frustrating experience waiting for a clerk to type up an invoice, came the Fast Finger keyboard. This is an interesting name as most people that will use it are anything but fast typists.

In retail outlets and call centers, however, this keyboard is expected to be a hit. Working with both Windows and Mac systems the keyboard is alphabetical, rather than the standard QWERTY layout. The Fast Finger keyboard has been tested on hunt-and-peck typists as well as experienced QWERTY typists. Those that hunt and peck find it much easier.

For example, a five year old was tested on both keyboards, and loved the Fast Finger layout. With the keys positioned in alphabetical order, the youngster reported that it was much easier than having to search. The makers of the Fast Finger are hoping that young adults and older adults will too.

With a press of a button the Fast Finger keyboard can be used in standard QWERTY mode. People who type using a combination of touch and sight may find it a bit confusing. Experienced typists who do not have to look at the keyboard, except for that occasional number or punctuation sign, will probably not notice the difference.

The Fast Finger does even more. In place of those relatively useless function keys at the top, Fast Finger has replaced them and added shortcut keys such as LOL, BRB and other instant messaging keys. Fast Finger keyboard costs $29.95.
